There's never enough time to knock out all the management tasks at your practice, right? Here's help: Get organized and follow this approach from Fetch dvm360 conference speaker Dave Nicol, BVMS, MRCVS, and you may be able to squeeze it all in. It's as easy as this:

1. Find out what is happening and why it's happening: Get to the bottom of what needs addressed

2. Decide what you're going to do about it: Establish a clear objective

3. Create an action list: Define the steps necessary to take care of whatever is in front of you

4. Review: If the objectives are met, move on; if not, circle back to #2

Is that really all there is to it?

"If you can pound through every problem, every obstacle you face, with determination using that structure, you will make minced meat of your management challenges," he says.
